Corona update: 186 school pupils and 18 teachers end up in quarantine in Ullensaker

A total of 186 students and 18 teachers are currently in quarantine in Ullensaker municipality. 

The municipality describes the situation as serious.

A hundred students at Jessheim upper secondary school had to go into quarantine after another student at the school has been diagnosed with coronavirus. 

A total of five students at the school are now infected, according to the municipality.

Furthermore, another two people in the same household with an already known infection case have also been diagnosed with coronavirus on Saturday. 

Five schools affected

One of them is connected to a primary school, newspaper Dagbladet reported on Sunday.

In total, pupils and teachers at five schools in the municipality have recently been quarantined. 

That involves a total of 186 school pupils and 18 teachers. 

Most of them are residents of the Ullensaker municipality.

“The outbreak at Jessheim upper secondary school and the infection situation in the municipality, in general, constitutes a serious situation. 

We are monitoring the situation closely, in close dialogue with the National Institute of Public Health,” the municipality’s health director Gunnhild Grimstad-Kirkeby stated.
