As a result of vaccine surpluses, Oslo will not receive a single dose of the corona vaccine for the next three weeks. At the same time, it will speed up the administration of dose two for some of its residents.
After consultation with the National Institute of Public Health (FHI), the Municipality has already been receiving fewer vaccine doses in the last couple of weeks, infection control chief Frode Hagen told the newspaper Avisa Oslo.
The FHI has asked municipalities with vaccine surpluses to cancel new deliveries. Oslo has a surplus of 900 doses, all of which expire next week.
On the other hand, the institute has advised municipalities not to send doses to other municipalities, so Oslo Municipality will therefore speed up the administration of dose two for individual residents.
