Water consumption in Oslo has increased significantly due to the warm summer weather. The water and wastewater plants are asking the inhabitants of Oslo to limit their water consumption

On Friday, the authorities reported that they are struggling to uphold water supply to certain areas in Oslo.

“We ask everyone in Oslo to cut down on watering their gardens and other unnecessary water use,” says the agency.

The high consumption is leading to an additional load on the supply system and several are experiencing low water pressure.

The reason for the situation is that water treatment plants fail to produce water in fast enough supply and that the capacity of the pipelines in some areas is insufficient for such a high consumption.
