The Parents’ in there 30’s from Oslo are charged with abuse after their ten weeks old son died in hospital in December 2014.
The couple is accused of violating Penal Code section 232, having injured another’s body to the point of death. When this matter came up for Oslo District Court in early December, the father was accused of having carried out the abuse, while the mother is charged with complicity, wrote Nettavisen.
In the indictment it states that the father repeatedly “shook, bumped and held the baby with such force that the child suffered multiple rib fractures, retinal detachment, fractured skull and multiple hemorrhages in the brain.”
Furthermore, it states that the mother was present at several of the incidents, she told him to stop and “expressed to him that the violence could lead to injury and death, but failed to take any measure which was likely to bring the violence to an end, despite that there was time and opportunity to do so. ”
– She is sorry that it ended with the indictment and does not acknowledge guilt, says Bjorn Rudjor, her lawyer, to Nettavisen.
It is not known whether the man acknowledged guilt or not. The government had a 13 day trial in Oslo District Court.
