The Epidemic Commission, which advises the Danish government, will hold an emergency meeting on Tuesday. The number of corona hospital admissions in the country has doubled in recent weeks.
The commission has eleven members and is led by Minister of Health Magnus Heunicke from the Social Democratic Party.
The infection in Denmark has been running rampant lately. Last week 11,369 new cases of infection were registered, compared to 4,751 the week before. At the same time, the number of people hospitalized with corona doubled to 248.
The commission might, among other things, recommend new infection control restrictions or other measures to prevent the spread of the virus.
All measures must be approved by the Danish parliament (Folketing).
