Hurtigruten canceled all planned cruises to Antarctica until the 2020/2021 season, which lasts until March next year due to the coronavirus crisis.
“Due to the challenging conditions and uncertainty, Hurtigruten has decided that the rest of the 2020/2021 season for Antarctica must be canceled,” the company wrote in a stock exchange announcement on Thursday.
In the stock exchange announcement, the company also states that many of the guests who have booked tickets on the company’s expedition cruise have chosen to postpone their travels instead of asking for a refund.
The company now has around EUR 1.5 million in remaining repayment claims.
