A total of 17 new cases of coronavirus infection have been registered in Ålesund in the last 24 hours.
Never before have so many people been infected in the Municipality in a single day during the pandemic.
Ålesund Municipality states that twelve of the cases are related to the outbreak at Toldboden/Anno. All cases are defined as close contacts.
On Thursday, infection was detected in a total of 53 people in Ålesund and other municipalities that are related to this outbreak.
The Municipality states that they expect more cases of infection in close contacts in the future.
“The infection tracing shows that this virus is transmitted very easily. We ask everyone to stick to close contacts and reduce activity,” municipal chief physician Olav Mestad warned.
