Daily record: 11,825 new corona cases registered in Norway in the last 24 hours

In the last 24 hours, 11,825 corona infection cases have been registered in Norway. That is 3,440 more than the same day last week.

In the last seven days, an average of 7,356 corona infection cases have been registered per day. The corresponding average seven days ago was 4,808.

On Wednesday, 264 corona patients were hospitalized in Norway – 13 fewer than the day before. Out of the 264, 80 patients were in intensive care, and 61 of them were on respirators, according to the Norwegian Directorate of Health’s overview.

According to the National Institute of Public Health (FHI), a total of 472,355 people have tested positive for corona in Norway since the start of the pandemic. The previous 24-hour infection record in Norway was registered on January 12, 2022, when 9,622 infected people were registered.

A total of 1,372 corona-infected people have died in Norway since March 2020, preliminary figures show.
