The suspect in the Copenhagen shooting did not have a weapons permit, Danish police stated on Monday.

“It appears that the suspect did not have a permit for a weapon,” the chief inspector of the Copenhagen police, Søren Thomassen, stated at a press conference on Monday morning.

He said that the police believe that there has been some form of preparation prior to the shooting.

“As it looks now, it seems that he acted alone,” Thomassen stated.

Three people have been confirmed dead, and three are critically injured after a shooting incident in a Field’s shopping center in Copenhagen on Sunday.

The police were notified of the shooting at 5:35 PM on Sunday. The man was arrested 13 minutes later.

Field’s is among Denmark’s largest shopping centers, with over 135 shops and restaurants spread over around 74,000 square meters.
