Dead person found in burnt-out car in Svelvik

A person has been found dead in a burnt-out car in Svelvik in Drammen Municipality. So far, the police do not know what happened.

The police got the report about the burning car at 1:22 AM on Tuesday. About an hour and a half later, the Southeastern Police District reported that a person had been found dead in the car.

“We do not know anything about what happened,” operations manager Ottar Steinstø in the Southeastern Police District told NTB.

The police have so far not been able to confirm the identity of the deceased, nor do they know how the fire started. The road past the site was closed but reopened in the meantime.
