The police were notified of the discovery of a dead person in the sea in Skånevik in Etne Municipality at 10:30 AM on Saturday.
The deceased person is a woman, the police reported on Twitter. There is currently no indication that any criminal activities took place.
“There is nothing to indicate that this is anything other than a tragic drowning accident,” task leader Terje Heldal in the Southwestern Police District told the local newspaper Grannar.
The police and fire brigade moved out to secure the site. According to Grannar, the police have identified the deceased.
