Decline in fatal accidents in the labor force last year

A total of 33 fatal accidents were registered in the labor force in 2019.

That is the lowest number since 2000.

From 2000 to 2019, the number of fatal accidents has decreased from 85 to 33, which corresponds to a reduction of 52 fatal accidents or over 60% during the period, according to figures from Statistics Norway (SSB).

The number of fatal accidents on land was 29 last year, which is half of the amount from the year 2000.

At sea, there were only three fatal accidents in 2019.

For the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway and the Civil Aviation Authority’s supervisory areas, there were zero and one occupational accident with a fatal outcome in 2019, respectively.
