How much should hospital employees in Norway be paid? Negotiations between the Delta union and Spekter started on Thursday.

“We entered these negotiations to increase our members’ purchasing power. That is our requirement,” Delta leader Lizzie Ruud Thorkildsen said on Thursday.

The employee organization believes that the salary level must contribute to retaining and recruiting necessary personnel for the hospitals.

“Our members at the hospitals rightly believe that it is their turn now… There are many tired hospital staff members now. They have been at the forefront of the pandemic,” Thorkildsen added.

Delta has over 88,000 members and is part of YS.
