The Danish government expects that its digital corona passport, which will show whether people have been vaccinated or have recently tested negative, will be ready by May.

Minister of Finance Nicolai Wammen confirmed the information to Danish TV2.

The digital passport should also be able to be displayed in an app on mobile phones.

In the first instance, it is intended that the passport will make it easier for Danes to travel, for example, to other countries that require a negative COVID-19 test before entry.

The business community hopes that the passport can eventually also be used in connection with concerts or football matches.

The Norwegian Ministry of Health is working on vaccine certificates, but no decision has yet been made on how to use them.

The EU will present a proposal for a vaccine passport during March.
