The French base jumper (38) who have been stuck in a mountainside at Sunndalsøra since Thursday night, will probably not be brought down until Tuesday.

– He’s still in the mountains, and now there is fog and light rain inside Sunndalen, so it is uncertain whether it can be done today, probably not.

The weather forecast for Tuesday is better,  operations manager Rolf Anders Korstad og Romsdal Police said to NTB Monday.

The man was on Sunday declared to be probably perished, based on the assessment by the doctor who was in the rescue helicopter when the man was located at 1200-1300 meters altitude.

The French 38-year-old has been lying clamped in steep and rugged terrain for five days after police received notice of an accident in connection with jumps made from Hårstadnebba at Sunndalsøra  on Thursday.

The alpine rescue team and ambulance had  planned to make an attempt to retrieve the base jumper on Monday, but are awaiting the preliminary weather situation.
