Directorate of Health: We must be able to increase testing capacity at Norway’s airports quickly

The Norwegian Directorate of Health asks Norwegian municipalities to ensure that the minimum staffing levels at the testing stations at the airports and Svinesund and Storskog are maintained.

Testing at the border has been discontinued, but the Norwegian Directorate of Health does not want all the test capacity to be phased out. Most border crossings at roads and ports can discontinue test capacity.

But at the airports with foreign traffic and the Svinesund and Storskog border crossings, the capacity must be maintained, the Directorate noted.

The municipalities are instructed to ensure that the test stations can scale up the capacity in a few days and reach the current level within 14 days.

Preparedness levels should be maintained through the winter and until the spring until the municipalities receive further instructions, the Directorate noted in a letter.
