Dozens of Norwegians are still registered in Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told the newspaper Dagbladet. Norwegians in the country were asked to return home in February.

Authorities have advised against ll travel to Ukraine since February. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs does not have an exact figure on how many Norwegians are left in the country.

“As it is voluntary to register on reseregistrering.no, we are not aware of exactly how many Norwegian citizens are in Ukraine, but there are still dozens of Norwegian citizens registered in the country,” press officer Guri Solberg told the newspaper.

Solberg further encouraged all Norwegians in Ukraine to register. The Ministry is currently unable to bring Norwegians out of the country.

“The situation in the country does not make it possible to facilitate assisted departure of Norwegian citizens. There are also no plans for such activities. The departure opportunities and information about border crossing can change quickly, and people must make their own preparations and security assessments before departure,” Solberg added.
