A total of 17 people in Drammen Municipality have been diagnosed with coronavirus in the last 24 hours. For six of the cases, there is an unknown route of transmission.
For some of the cases with an unknown route of infection, the infection tracing has not yet been completed, the Municipality stated on Friday.
During the last 14 days, 206 new cases of infection have been detected in Drammen Municipality.
“206 new cases of infection in the last two weeks show that we still have a lot of infection in society and still a big job ahead of us to stop the spread of infection,” municipal chief physician Ingeborg Johannessen noted.
Since mid-March, Drammen Municipality has been subject to the strictest corona restrictions in the COVID-19 regulations. These measures last until and including Sunday, but on Thursday, the government announced that it would ease the corona measures as a result of the development of infection.
For Drammen’s part, this means that from Monday, the Municipality will no longer be covered by the strictest restrictions but will be downgraded to the second-strictest level of measures.
