EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will travel to Kyiv this week to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell will join her on the trip, spokesman Eric Mamer said on Tuesday.

The exact date and time of the trip are not known, but Mamer says they will make the trip ahead of the event “Stand up for Ukraine.”

The event aims to gather support for Ukrainian refugees, as well as Ukrainians on the run in their own country.

It kicks off in Warsaw, Poland, on Saturday. It will be hosted by von der Leyen and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Previously, the prime ministers of Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, and the Czech Republic have visited Zelenskyy in Kyiv.
