So far this year, nine serious incidents have been registered at Nordland Hospital. In eight of the cases, the patient has died as a result of the incident.

The figures have been published in connection with a report on supervisory cases, which was examined by the hospital’s board on Tuesday, the newspaper Avisa Nordland writes.

The cases have been reported to the Norwegian Board of Health Supervision (Statens helsetilsyn). In several instances, the cases have also been sent to the County Governor.

So far, no failure in the handling in any of the cases has been proven, according to the report.

The overview shows, among other things, that one patient died after an overdose of cytostatics, i.e., cytotoxic drugs, another died of brain injuries after intubation problems, while a cancer patient died after an unexpected worsening of their condition.
