Electric scooter companies agree to Copenhagen’s requirements

The electric scooter rental companies agreed to the authorities’ ban on parking electric scooters on municipal land in Copenhagen.

The ban was passed last year and led to the rental companies withdrawing from Copenhagen completely in the hope that the decision would be reversed.

That did not happen, and the e-scooter rental companies have now accepted the authorities’ requirement that they may only use private land – and in agreement with the landowner.

The four e-scooter companies will establish themselves with 800 e-scooters each.

Copenhagen has introduced a parking-free zone in the city center, and electric scooters must be picked up and parked in their own parking lots elsewhere in the city. If you park outside, there is usually a fine.

It is already forbidden to drive on sidewalks in Denmark, and mandatory use of helmets will be introduced at the turn of the year.
