Eleven people in Drammen Municipality have been diagnosed with coronavirus in the last 24 hours. This is the fifth day in a row with a double-digit number of infected people reported in the Municipality.

Ten of them are close contacts of people who have previously been diagnosed with the infection, while the route of infection is unknown for one person, the Municipality stated.

“The infection is fairly high in Drammen Municipality at the moment. Five of the last six days, we’ve diagnosed eleven or twelve cases per day,” municipal chief physician John David Johannessen said.

The municipal chief physician is waiting to see how the opening of, among other things, restaurants will affect the infection pressure.

“But at the same time, we know that the restaurants that have been closed for a long time are concerned with upholding infection control and preventing the spread of infection,” he noted.
