Emergency calls with video are now being tested at several 113 and emergency control centers in Norway. The feature has already saved lives.

– This is a unique solution and revolution for the staff at 113 Central. By getting a better understanding of the situation from the location, the operators can send the right help faster, says Minister of Health and Care Bent Høie (H) in a press release from the Norwegian Air Ambulance Foundation.

The solution was developed by the foundation together with the 113 emergency rooms and the health authorities. It is part of the national project “Together we save lives”.

The goal is for all of Norway’s 16 emergency rooms and 100 medical emergency centers to use the solution during the year.

The function is currently being tested at the 113 emergency control rooms in Oslo, Bergen and Nord-Trøndelag, as well as the emergency services in Voss and Sandnes.
