Emmanuel Macron wins France’s presidential election with 58.5% of the vote

French President Emmanuel Macron received 58.55% of the vote in Sunday’s second round of the presidential election, the final result shows.

Challenger Marine Le Pen received 41.45% of the vote, according to an overview from the Ministry of the Interior.

The turnout was 71.99%.

A total of 48,752,500 people had the right to vote in this year’s presidential election in France. More than 13 million of them abstained.
