Employee at sheltered accommodation found dead – resident suspected

A 59 years old woman who was working at a sheltered accommodation for the mentally disabled in Kragerø was  found dead onSaturday night was . A male inmate is suspected in the case.

Police said the woman went for a walk with the resident.

– The resident came back alone to the place and reported that the woman had become ill.

Paramedics were called and they found the woman greatly bruised near a gas station on Kalstad in Kragerø,  the police writes in their press release.

The condition of the woman was considered to be so serious that an air ambulance was sent for. She was pronounced dead at around at 20. Police are currently working on establishing the circumstances surrounding the death.

– We have information that there has been an argument between the resident and the woman.

One of the police tasks will also be to examine whether the resident is able to understand what has happened, and whether  or not he is too mentally disabled to be sentenced if he committed the crime, the police said.

Because of the condition of the resident is, he has been neither questioned or arrested.
– We are making further investigations into the case, both technically and tactically, the operations center in South-East police told the news agency NTB.
The first message about the case came at around at 18.30 on Saturday night.
