Prime Minister Erna Solberg (H) believes that Norway is well placed for a new step in the reopening. But the delta corona variant increases the need for border control.
“We are well on track,” Solberg told news bureau NTB on Monday.
She said that the government is now processing the professional recommendations for the next step in the reopening plan.
But overall, the situation looks positive.
“We are well placed when it comes to the infection rates and hospital admissions.”
Solberg nevertheless reserved the right to delay the reopening of the borders, both due to the danger of the delta variant spreading and delays in vaccination delays.
“We are discussing these issues now,” she said.
