Erna Solberg: The most important thing is to ensure that people don’t end up unemployed

“We must do everything to prevent the crisis from pushing people out of the labor market,” Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg warned.

“Including more people in the labor market is the most important thing we must do to deal with the economic ripple effects of the corona pandemic,” Solberg emphasized when she commented on the budget on Thursday.

This is Solberg’s eighth budget, and it’s based on an agreement between the Conservatives, the Liberals (V), the Christian Democrats (KRF), and the Progress Party (FRP).

“Over time, we have worked to solve the short-term and long-term challenges Norway faces. 

“The ambition is to create a sustainable welfare society for generations to come after us,” Solberg said, pointing out that this applies to the climate, the economy, and society.
