Norway is on track for the next step in the reopening plan, Prime Minister Erna Solberg (H) told newspaper VG.

“Some adjustments have been made, but overall, step three will include what we stated before,” she told the newspaper without going into detail ahead of the press conference at 1 PM.

The Prime Minister says that there will still be a need for control, especially at the border.

“There will be more people because the infection pressure in many countries in Europe is on the way down, and there will be more travel,” she said.

Positive developments

Falling infection rates, fewer corona patients in hospitals, and more people who have received vaccine doses are the backdrop for the government now taking society one step further back to normal.

The previous reopening step was implemented on the night of Thursday, May 27. The government has previously said that they would spend about three weeks assessing the situation and making the necessary analyses and assessments before implementing each step.
