Prime Minister Erna Solberg (H) says that Norwegians are not allowed to travel out of the Oslo region to go to their cabins in other municipalities.

“It is an unnecessary journey in this situation,” Erna Solberg told Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK) when she met the press on Saturday morning.

She added that many people went to their cabins before the weekend, including one of her ministers, before they heard about the new strict measures that were presented on Saturday morning.

Solberg added that the National Institute of Public Health (FHI) and the Norwegian Directorate of Health are working together to update the regulations for neighboring areas.

On Saturday, new measures were introduced in the Oslo region, the strictest since 12 March.
