EU countries have now received vaccines for 70% of the population

This weekend, the EU passed a milestone in vaccine deliveries. EU countries now have enough vaccine doses to be able to vaccinate 70% of the adult population.

“As of tomorrow, the total of vaccine doses delivered to all regions in Europe will amount to around 500 million,” European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said.

“We are prepared to continue distributing vaccines, also against the new variants. 

“Now, the EU member states must do everything in their power to ensure that vaccination goes forward. Only then will we all be safe,” she added.
