EU member states have agreed to send EUR 500 million more in military aid to Ukraine.

The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell says the EU must increase military support for Ukraine while Russia prepares for an offensive in the east of the country.

Ukrainian forces are preparing for a fierce battle over eastern Ukraine. These battles can have great significance for the further course of the war, NTB reports.

“The next few weeks will be crucial,” Borell stated.

This is the third package of military aid that the EU has agreed to send to Ukraine to help it defend itself against Russian forces. In total, the EU has sent EUR 1.5 billion in military aid to the war-torn country.
