European Medicines Agency: AstraZeneca vaccines can still be used while blood clots are being examined

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) stated that the AstraZeneca vaccine can still be used while the investigation into side effects and blood clots is underway.

In a press release, the Norwegian Medicines Agency wrote that they are aware that Denmark, Norway, and other countries have put the use of AstraZeneca vaccines on hold, but that they still believe that the vaccination can continue until further notice.

One death in Denmark must be investigated. It is not yet clear whether the blood clots and the death in Denmark are due to the vaccine.

The Danish Medicines Agency stated that the vaccine came from the same batch as the vaccine of an Austrian nurse who died recently.

The batch contained 17 million doses and was distributed to 17 EU countries.
