Europeans have lost confidence in AstraZeneca’s coronavirus vaccine, a new survey shows. The exception? The British, who generally still believe that the vaccine is safe.
According to a poll conducted by British YouGov, most residents of the largest EU countries, including Germany, France, Spain, and Italy, believe the vaccine could be dangerous.
But Britain stands out.
More than two thirds of the respondents said that they believe that the vaccine is safe. Only 9% disagreed.
In recent weeks, several European countries have suspended the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine while investigating whether the vaccine could increase the risk of blood clots.
The European Medicines Agency (EMA) has since stated that the vaccine is safe.
