By May this year, as many as 2,487 people lost their driver’s license due to speeding. This is an increase of 20 per cent compared to the same period last year.
Chief of the National Mobile Police Service (UP), Jon Steven Hasseldal, points to intensified speed controls as one of the reasons the numbers have increased so far this year, writes Dagbladet.
Hasseldal is worried that the summer could be marked by a lot of careless driving.
“If the speed level remains as high as it is now, then we are concerned,” he says.
