A total of 56 cases of infection with the delta coronavirus variant have been detected in Færder Municipality.

The island municipality in Vestfold and Telemark has registered 95 cases of infection so far in June. The Municipality states that 56 cases of the delta variant have been detected, but it is not known which periods these tests apply to.

The Municipality is now in the process of reviewing all the samples to investigate whether they are associated with the same outbreak.

According to the newspaper Tønsbergs Blad, the outbreak originated from a choir concert.

People who have tested positive in recent days must assume to be infected with the delta variant, the Municipality warned.
