The employer and the farm owners have been fined a total of NOK 360,000 after a 35-year-old man died in an accident in Kristiansand in the summer of 2018.

The man’s employer must pay NOK 300,000 for several violations of the Working Environment Act. Both farm owners received a fine of NOK 30,000, Fædrelandsvennen writes.

The employer has not yet adopted the fine, but the farm owners have.

The accident happened in connection with work in a ditch that was almost four meters deep.

The construction worker was working on clearing away the remaining sand mass because the ditch was too deep for the excavator.

The incident took place while he was working.
