On Wednesday, 26 corona patients are being treated in Norwegian hospitals, according to figures from the Directorate of Health. That’s six fewer than Tuesday. Three patients are on respirators, which is the same as Tuesday.

This is the lowest number of patients since March 12. At that time, 23 corona-infected patients were being treated in Norwegian hospitals.

8,455 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus infection, the Norwegian Surveillance System for Communicable Diseases (MSIS) reported on Wednesday afternoon. This is an increase of nine since Tuesday.

237 corona deaths had been reported to the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (FHI) by Wednesday morning. The average age of the deceased is 82 years, and 54 per cent are men. FHI states that it is not always possible to know if the patient has died of or with Covid-19.
