In Norway, a total of 450 fully vaccinated people have been infected with corona. Among these, 19 corona-related deaths and 26 hospitalizations have been registered, according to the FHI.

The 450 infection cases make up 0.03% among the fully vaccinated population, chief physician Sara Viksmoen Watle at the National Institute of Public Health (FHI) told Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK).

The figures were published in the FHI’s weekly report for week 25.

All but two cases of corona-related deaths were among people over 80 years old. Among those admitted to the hospital, 21 people are at risk. Most are over 75 years old.

About one in ten vaccinated people can test positive after being exposed to the virus, according to assistant health director Espen Rostrup Nakstad.

“Fortunately, few such people get a serious course of the disease since most, after all, have a fairly good (protective) effect from the vaccine,” Nakstad noted.
