Corona infection figures increased by 42% last week, which is an eightfold increase since mid-October, according to the National Institute of Public Health (FHI).

Last week, 26,271 cases of COVID-19 were registered in Norway, which is an increase of 42% from the week before, according to FHI’s weekly report.

On Wednesday, 307 corona-infected patients were admitted to Norwegian hospitals – 13 fewer than the day before.

Ninety-five of the inpatients are in intensive care, while 48 are on respirators, TV 2 writes.

The number of corona patients admitted to hospitals has risen rapidly recently and was up to 320 on Tuesday. That is only five patients short of the record number from April last year when 325 patients were admitted with COVID-19.
