National Institute of Public Health (FHI) director Camilla Stoltenberg says that everyone in Norway will probably be offered the second dose of the corona vaccine before the summer is over – if everything goes according to plan.

“It is possible and conceivable, if one works toward it, that we will be able to offer the second vaccine dose to everyone during the last part of August,” Stoltenberg told P4.

The plan assumes that the deliveries of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines arrive as planned and that the municipalities facilitate flexible vaccination.

“We have been prepared for this for a long time, and the municipalities must prepare the offer so that people have the opportunity to get vaccinated during the holidays as well.

“We will work intensively throughout the summer to continue to have the high vaccine coverage that we now have,” the FHI director said.

The FHI has previously estimated that all adults in Norway would be offered the first vaccine dose by mid-July.
