The infection situation in Kristiansand is serious. The National Institute of Public Health (FHI) fears that its inhabitants have brought the coronavirus infection to the mountains during the winter holidays.

Chief physician Preben Aavitsland informed Fædrelandsvennen that – corrected for the population – Kristiansand registered many corona cases as Oslo.

“We are also afraid that residents may have brought the infection to Hovden, Bortelid, Brokke, and other places this winter holiday week and infected others there,” he added.

He says it is important that everyone who comes home from winter vacation with symptoms, even a mild cold or sore throat, stays home and schedules a test.

On Friday, Kristiansand registered 38 new coronavirus cases, which is a new 24-hour record. Only 22 people have a known route of infection.
