Based on professional assessments, there is no reason to offer a third vaccine dose to people who have been vaccinated with different coronavirus vaccines, according to the National Institute of Public Health (FHI).

In Denmark, around 150,000 people who have been vaccinated with two different doses will be offered a third dose when the vaccination program has been completed.

However, according to FHI director of infection control Geir Bukholm, people who have been vaccinated with AstraZeneca and an mRNA vaccine such as Pfizer or Moderna get as good a protection as those who got two doses of an mRNA vaccine.

“Based on professional vaccine assessments, there is, therefore, no reason to offer a third dose in such cases,” Bukholm said.
