Norway will receive 1.185 million extra doses of Pfizer’s corona vaccine after the EU signed a new agreement on the delivery of 100 million new doses this year.

The National Institute of Public Health (FHI) emphasized that some of the doses might be included in the already announced increase for the second quarter.

Pfizer announced earlier Monday that the new agreement with the EU comes as a result of the European Commission’s choice to take advantage of the opportunity to buy another 100 million vaccine doses in line with an agreement signed on February 17 this year.

“We now intend to deliver a total of 600 million doses to the EU this year, which will cover two-thirds of the EU population.

“It is the largest global delivery agreement for Comirnaty (the corona vaccine),” commercial director Sean Marett in BioNTech said.
