The National Institute of Public Health (FHI) is ready to allow somewhat less strict and more practically oriented prioritization of vaccines after everyone in the risk groups has received the first dose.

The information was announced in a letter to municipalities, health trusts, and county governors on Friday, newspaper Aftenposten writes.

The letter states, among other things: “For example, it may mean that family members who will get a vaccine shortly can be vaccinated at the same time, or opening up for (the vaccination of) several/all age cohorts within the same priority group at the same time.”

The goal is for the vaccination to reduce the spread of infection and promote the reopening of Norwegian society.

In addition, the FHI wrote that it might make sense to consider schemes that allow residents to book an appointment themselves so that both residents and municipalities have increased flexibility during the summer holidays.
