A Finnish man in his 40s died late on Saturday night after falling at Tonstad wind farm in Sirdal municipality, Vest-Agder.

“We were notified of the accident on Sunday morning. It is a Finnish citizen who has perished, and what has happened is deeply tragic. Our thoughts go to the family,” says Sirdal Mayor Jonny Liland to Stavanger Aftenblad.

It is not known which company the man was employed in.

“Work on the site has been temporarily halted, and the area has been blocked off,” said Einar Haugland, police investigative director at the Southwest Police District.

Unknown cause
Police have conducted on-site investigations and have questioned witnesses.

“We can’t say anything about the cause of the accident at this time,” says Haugland.
