The Finnmark Police District has decided to remove the corona measure that blocked foreign seafarers from going ashore in the region during the pandemic.

“It is being revoked on the basis that large parts of the population have now been vaccinated.

“At the same time, the pressure on the health preparedness in the district has been significantly reduced,” department director Lise Flø at border and immigration control at the Finnmark Police District stated.

The measure was introduced on March 16, 2020, on the basis of a high risk of infection.
