The Finnish grid company Fingrid has once again asked Finns to prepare for a winter of power outages as imports from Sweden may decrease.

The company pointed out that Finland will be able to import less electricity from southern Sweden in the coming months due to the maintenance of the Ringhals 4 nuclear reactor at Varberg, which will take longer than previously thought due to a lack of spare parts.

The maintenance should have been completed by the end of November but is now projected to last until the end of January.

The Swedish grid company Svenska kraftnät has also warned that there is an increased risk of power outages in the southern part of Sweden.
