Fjære church in Grimstad: Man arrested for aggravated vandalism

One man has been arrested and charged with aggravated vandalism at Fjære church in Grimstad, where invaluable objects from the 13th century were damaged in a burglary.

The man was arrested at 7 PM on Friday, the Agder Police District announced. 

The church was subjected to burglary between Thursday night and Friday morning. Extensive damage was reported inside the church, and many invaluable items from as far back as the 13th century were damaged.

The accused is in his 40-50s, and the police know him from before, the newspaper VG writes.
