The ferry company Fjord Line now requires its employees who have contact with customers to wear face masks, and passengers will be able to buy face masks on board at cost price.

– “We do this to create security on the trip and to send a signal that we take this situation very seriously,” says Fjord Line’s Executive Vice President Richard Ternblom to Fædrelandsvennen.

Ternblom can not guarantee that all employees will have a face mask from Tuesday, but he reckons that the practice will be underway during the week.

The ferry company offers trips between Bergen, Stavanger, Kristiansand, Langesund and Hirtshals in Denmark. The measure comes after the Danish authorities have recommended the use of face masks on means of transport with many people.
