Foreign Minister Eriksen Søreide to travel to Portugal

Marine and European cooperation are the main issues when Foreign Minister Ine Eriksen Søreide travels to Lisbon on the 12th of January.

The purpose of the trip is to strengthen Norwegian-Portuguese dialogue and cooperation on foreign, security and European policy. During the visit, Eriksen Søreide (H) will, among other things, meet with Portugal’s Foreign Minister; Santos Silva and Minister of Foreign Affairs; Ricardo Serrao Santos, the Foreign Ministry writes in a press release.

-“Norway appreciates the close cooperation we have with Portugal, both bilaterally and in the European and multilateral context. Especially as port nations, we have a number of common interests,” says the Foreign Minister in the press release.

The Portuguese Prime Minister is a member of the High Level Panel for a Sustainable Marine Economy. The panel is chaired by Prime Minister Erna Solberg (H) and consists of heads of government from a number of coastal states.
